Malindo Air goes to Kochi (Cochin)

SUBANG, 11 Feb 2014 – Malindo Air, Malaysia’s hybrid airline, announces today that it is mounting direct daily services between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Kochi, Kerala’s commercial capital beginning 24 April 2014.

Special promotional fares start from RM399 all-inclusive one way for economy class and RM999 all-inclusive one way for business class. Tickets are open for sales beginning today 11 Feb 2014. Malindo Air will be operating this new route using its brand new 180-seater B737-900ER, providing luxurious travel experience with free in-flight entertainment at all seats.

Chief Executive Officer of Malindo Air, Mr Chandran Rama Muthy says, “Malindo Air is very thrilled to expand our commitment to the hugely potential Southern India and its surrounding market. The commencement of this direct service between the two cities is symbolic of strong ties between Malaysia and India. Our guests from Southern India will now be able to enjoy our unrivalled standards of comfort, space and satisfaction in air travelat incredibly low fares.”

Chandran also added that this new route is mounted in support of the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 project and there will certainly be a surge in demand for this service.Travellers from Kochi will now have another option for connectivity to Malaysia and the convenience to visit beautiful holiday destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak. Malindo Air also provides a seamless connectivity to other destinations in our network such as Bali, Jakarta or Bangkok.

On the other hand, Kochi is renowned amongst the Malaysian Hindu devotees for the pilgrimage and religious purposes performed at the holy Sabari Hills. Of course, the biggest attractions for the Far East market to Kerala are Ayurveda treatments and cruising the scenic beauty of the backwaters in houseboats, also known as Kettuvalloms. This is certainly a win-win situation for both countries.
