PUTRAJAYA: Hot air balloons in the shape of ‘Smurf’ and ‘3 Wise Monkeys’ began to dot the sky over Putrajaya Thursday at the start of the 5th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2013 that ends Sunday.
A total of 25 hot air balloons, including conventional shaped balloons with various unique designs and motifs, will festoon Putrajaya’s sky during the four-day fiesta themed “1 World, 1 Malaysia and 1 Fiesta” at the Monument Alaf Baru at Precinct 2, here.
Visitors to the fiesta can look forward to special shaped hot air balloons from around the world which are set to make their debut in Malaysia and among them were the ‘Smurf’, ‘3 Wise Monkeys’, ‘Buzzy’, clown’s head.
Event Director of the Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Izzati Khairudin said the special shaped balloons are among of the biggest crowd favourites, as they are distinctly different from the conventional teardrop shaped balloons.
Members of the public can go for the tethered hot-air balloon rides from 7.30am to 10.30am and 7pm to 10pm daily for RM20 per person. The ride will be hoisted 60 feet off the ground. – Bernama
