After the successful collaboration of Adhi and YoYo Honey Singh in Ethir Neechal, Anirudh Ravichander has once again signed up the Hip Hop Tamizha star for his latest song, Chennai City Gangsta alongside British-Indian rapper Hard Kaur for the Tamil comedy film, Vanakkam Chennai.
The movie is written and directed by debutant Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and it features Shiva and Priya Anand in the lead roles. Anirudh Ravichander, the music director of the movie, has also roped in UK act – Arjun, Vishal Dadlani, Pragathi Guruprasad from Super Singer and Mohit Chauhan for the album.
Adhi of Hip Hop Tamizha has been making waves recently through the success of his debut album – Hip Hop Tamizhan. The Tamil rapper was also credited by the Indian Book of Records as the first artist to release an Indian Tamil Hip Hop Album. As for Hard Kaur, she is often credited as the first female Indian rapper. The British-Indian rapper first released her solo album titled Supawoman in 2007 which eventually led her to win the Best Female Act in the UK Asian Music Awards the following year.
The award-winning rapper released her second album in October 2012 titled Party Loud All Year: P.L.A.Y. which was produced in collaboration with Sony. The track Chennai City Gangsta is set to be another hit as it will be exciting to see the chemistry between the two rappers – Adhi and Hard Kaur. The teaser is likely to be about in a couple of days.
